Apartment Criteria

Help me find an apartment in Tel Aviv and I’ll be happy to pay you a finder’s fee.

If you’ve ever considered yourself the kind of person who supports Olim as they adjust to life in Israel and get settled here, this is your chance to be proactive.

Contact me if you know of anything!

I’m Natan Gesher and I made this website so I could find an apartment in Tel Aviv. I am offering one month’s rent as a finder’s fee to whoever helps me find a new apartment.

Here’s what my next Tel Aviv apartment should have:

  • Minimum 1.5 rooms, preferably two or three rooms. I will not rent a studio (one room) apartment unless it’s big enough that a wall can be added to make a second room.
  • Kitchen. A kitchenette (מטבחון) is fine, as long as it has a sink, counter top, space for a refrigerator and oven/stove. If there’s not already a gas hookup, I will be buying gas balloons privately. This is non-negotiable. I can supply my own appliances.
  • I prefer a long-term lease (at least one year).
  • I’d like it to be new or renovated, but this is not critical.
  • A real bathtub would be very nice. If that’s not possible, I’d settle for a real shower stall. I can’t really see myself living in one of those apartments where the bathroom just has a showerhead on the ceiling and a drain in the floor.
  • I prefer a dud shemesh.
  • I prefer a building where the front door is closed and locked to the outside.
  • I prefer an apartment with a thick metal security door. If I rent a place that doesn’t have one, I’ll be willing the split the cost of installing one with the landlord.
  • I am willing to live with a roommate, preferably female, as long as she’s dog-friendly, a non-smoker and there’s plenty of space in the apartment for two people.

Here’s where the apartment should be located:

  • Tel Aviv. If you’re unsure about whether a certain area is Tel Aviv, it’s not Tel Aviv.
  • I prefer a to be somewhat close to the beach, but not too close. 10 to 15 minutes walking from the beach is a good distance.
  • I’d like to be close to a park. This is much less important if it’s close to the beach, but it becomes critical if I’m very far from the beach.
  • I want to be close to public transportation – especially the 4 or 5 bus/sherut routes.
  • Noisy, centrally located, busy streets are fine.

Here’s what I can pay:

  • Maximum rent – NIS 3500 per month. This figure does not include arnona, vaad bayit and utilities.

ps. I have a dog, so that has to be cool with the landlord. I adopted Sharav almost four years ago when he was three months old. He is extremely well behaved. I’ve personally invested thousands of hours in training him so that he never barks or does any of the things that the awful untrained Tel Aviv dogs do. I’m so sure that my dog won’t be a problem that I am willing to pay an extra cash security deposit against any damage he could create.

Do you know of any available apartments in Tel Aviv? I really appreciate your help, and if I find my next apartment with your help, I’ll pay you one month’s rent as a finder’s fee.

Just fill out the form below with the information, or contact me on Twitter or Facebook. Thanks!!
